Position Description

Manage Branch location to meet and exceed sales, service, and revenue goals. Create, maintain, and develop a Branch team dedicated to the sales and service objectives of the Credit Union. Responsible for leading and developing sales and service activities, expanding member relationships, and external business development initiatives. Manage and work with Assistant Manager as part of the management team. Develops and coaches employees and is accountable for staff retention. Manages risk exposure of Branch and ensures compliance with all regulations. Actively participates in community activities. Works with minimal supervision, self-starter and highly motivated. Works under supervision of Assistant Vice President of Member Sales and Service.

Specific Job Duties

Minimum Requirements

College degree or equivalent work experience
Financial services experience desired
Minimum of 12 months management and/or supervisory experience
Customer service experience
Basic computer skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
Notary license or ability to obtain Notary license within 90 days of hire date
Current driver’s license and own auto insurance
Excellent listening and speaking skills
Excellent written communication skills

Additional Comments

Management Certification is expected to be completed within nine months from hire date

Financial Consultant

Position Description

This position is directly responsible for the sale and servicing of alternative investment products and insurance products available to members of Provident Credit Union and non-members through an agreement with an outside broker/dealer. Position is commission plus benefits.

Specific Job Duties

Provide investment and insurance advice to members of the credit union
Perform investment and insurance product analysis
Perform daily sales activities such as generating new sales appointments and making follow-up calls to credit union members and select employee groups
Follow-up on all leads provided by credit union staff
Partner with credit union business development staff to generate additional leads and provide value added to the credit union’s offerings
Liaise with branch management and staff to generate leads and integrate activities with credit union initiatives
Prepare and present educational seminars as part of the credit union’s annual comprehensive financial seminar schedule
Provide educational sessions to branch staff to educate them on the member benefits available as part of the credit union’s financial planning and insurance services
Attend and participate in monthly sales meetings
Make suggestions for generating additional leads and improving the marketing and success of the overall investment program
Perform all administrative duties associated with the sales process
Comply with all aspects of regulations as set forth by the NASD/SEC and other policies, procedures and business practices required by the broker/dealer

Minimum Requirements

Bachelors degree preferred
Two years of hands-on insurance and investment product sales experience, preferably with a current book of business
Demonstrated sales production track record
Demonstrated customer service skills
Demonstrated sales prospecting ability
Superior written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Demonstrated expertise with financial planning and investment research software
Working knowledge of:
- SEC Rules And Regulations
- Government Regulations As They Pertain To Selling Financial Products And Services
Must have SEC Series 7, 63, and a life license
Ability to communicate clearly and with purpose

Mortgage Consultant

Position Description

To provide outstanding service to members by providing a variety of loan related information via telephone including daily rates and explanation of various loan programs available. Additionally, this position will serve as a liaison between the Credit Union and the member throughout the loan process from original inquiry, through the loan application process to loan sign-off.

Primary functions include but are not limited to: Originates residential real estate loans through selling of Credit Union’s loan products and services to meet the needs of the member base. Mortgage Consultant will participate in related business development activities by establishing and maintaining referral relationships with members, realtors, and various Select Employer Groups (SEGs). Mortgage Consultant will make sales calls to realtors, potential or existing members and other relevant groups with the objective of originating real estate loans for the Credit Union. Utilizes proactive telemarketing methods to build loan production. Mortgage Consultants supports a strategic alliance that leverages the personal member relationship of the branch with processing support by specialized mortgage agents.

Specific Job Duties

Responsible for coordination and management of communication regarding the loan process, the overall member interaction and interface with all parties involved on each individual loan that is originated from application to closing, including but not limited to, counseling and pre-qualifying potential home buyers; taking complete and accurate applications; obtaining all necessary support documents along with the appropriate fee and lock-in information; overseeing the loan process by monitoring loan status and ensuring conformity with terms; assisting in collecting additional documents and promptly communicating loan status to all interested parties, and obtaining loan documentation after closing, as directed by management
Submits completed loan applications with 24 hours of receipt from prospect
Solicits loan applications, manages loans through processing and closing to ensure top service to members. Mortgage Consultant preprocesses by collecting as much credit documentation as possible to reduce approval times
Builds a long-term, mutually beneficial relationship within the real estate community in the Credit Union's primary markets. Develops and implements a weekly sales plan with meaningful call objectives to support growth in loan production. Generates and maintains independent leads for new and future business
Keeps informed of trends and developments in real estate market and the competitive environment, as well as the changing rules and regulations pertaining to mortgages
Maintain a professional image and standards consistent with Credit Union policies and procedures
Establishes necessary relationships with SEGs to generate mortgage loan originations for corporate relocation members
Responds to District Branch offices product questions promptly. Works with Branches to generate referral leads, and assist with the training and coaching of staff. Meet with members at branches when feasible. Provide closing status to Branches. Enters branch applications and pre-approvals into LOS
Service a minimum of 30 member calls per day

Minimum Requirements

Exceptional written and oral communications skills
General knowledge using PC, Microsoft Office applications
Ability to learn to use Summit, Spectrum system, Contour and Onyx
Demonstrated excellence in mathematical and organizational skills
Ability to learn and follow: California Credit Union Law and Rules and Regulations, Provident Board Policies, NCUA Rules and Regulations and Consumer Loan Department policies and procedures
Demonstrated ability and willingness to provide outstanding service to every member and every other staff member
Demonstrated training and proven success in sales and cross-selling
Demonstrated excellence in telephone skills in customer service and problem resolution
One year experience, lending preferred, in a financial institution, including customer service and product sales
Working knowledge of all Credit Union loan products
Demonstrated mathematical/clerical aptitude
Basic knowledge of Real Estate terminology

Specific Job Duties

Implement market and portfolio tactic plans as it relates to member retention, expansion, attraction, and cost management
Make contact on existing portfolio members to expand their Credit Union relationship and develop new business through referral marketing. Develop business through effective outbound telephone calls to existing and non-existing members
Assist Branch Manager in business development by attending functions to new and existing SEGs. Recruit new members and promote Provident’s brand through active involvement within local community

Ensure completion of all certification and continued education requirements. Participate and attend all Webinars and training courses offered through Provident University
Effectively and accurately open new accounts and sub-accounts, including Savings, Checking, IRAs, Consumer Loans, Mortgage Loans, HELOCs, and Visa applications. Meet or exceed monthly cross-sell, sales goals, and member retention goals
Produce Month End Reports to address production related to goals
Actively participate in daily/weekly branch sales, service, and operations meetings
Participate in car sale and real estate home buying events
Perform other duties as needed

Minimum Requirements

College degree or equivalent work experience desired
Minimum one year experience with financial institution as a front-line worker with proven results
Minimum one year sales experience with proven results and the ability to make effective outbound phone calls
Extensive knowledge of Provident products, features, benefits, applications, and products offered through third parties and partners
Expertise in Host system and other marketing data base systems
Expertise in consumer loan processing
Knowledge to counsel and sell real estate loans
Notary Public License
Excellent communication skills
Excellent written communication skills

Must be certified as a Provident Personal Account Consultant within six months of position acceptance
